Action!

Good to meet everyone at the meeting last night. We've all got our little jobs to do so lets use this forum to post updates of our work, ask any questions that we may have and just generally keep each other 'in the loop' on whats going on.

Cheers

Tom

Campaign e-mail address / webmail.

I have created the address 'info at n16tesco.org.uk' so we can send e-mails from the domain instead of our personal addresses. Please msg me below with your e-mail address and I'll send you the login details / instructions.

If you want another address at n16tesco.org message me & I'll set it up.

Private facebook group created.

Somewhere to exchange info that we don't want the whole world seeing and a way of core members staying in touch easily. If you're on facebook and haven't got an invite to it yet pls 'friend me' and I'll send you an invite.

facebook

Hi Roger
I just noticed the alcohol licence application notice on the high street for the first time yesterday and found your campaign when searching the net for more information. I am horrified that there are plans to build a tesco in stoke newington!
Was there no public consultation with the council or discussion with local businesses? Do many local businesses even know about the plans?
Please will you add me to the facebook group?
And when's the next meeting - i would love to come along.
Many thanks,
Rachel

work in progress

Hello people

Paul and I should have the text for the leaflet ready tonight. I can put it together into a printable format although i'm lacking in tools and it may therefore be somewhat crude - did we have someone that said they could put things like this together or a friend that can?? in which case i can forward them the info/text and they can make it look nice. But let me know, i'm happy to put it together if not.

Saw another article in the Standard last night from their 'Save our Small Shops Campaign' I do think we need to get in touch with them as soon as possible, its great publicity to get the situation mentioned in that paper. Will the press release thats being put together cover that?? Otherwise, again, i'm happy to get in touch with them seperately to get them to cover the story.

FINALLY....Dianne Abbott is holding 2 of her surgeries tomorrow, one on Church Street (appointment only) and one on Stamford Hill (open) at 2pm. I'd be more than happy to go if i didn't have to work but i wondered if anyone else is available to go along to the surgery tomorrow to speak with her face to face. Again, i think this would be really worthwhile.

Cheers!!

Tom
